Most of my clients say this process is enjoyable, some even have said it was fun! The consult works like this: First, I come to your home or space (could be an office.) Once there I have you walk me through your project, (what rooms you want to paint or the exterior of your home.) While doing this I am looking and asking questions, considering architectural details, light sources, fixed surfaces (tile, counters, floors, brick or stone) and, we talk about what the rooms are used for.

Then, I teach you a little bit about color, color theory really, something I call “Color 101.” I find this to be quite helpful for folks, because then they can make intelligent decisions about color, and not just a shot in the dark. After this short discussion we start looking at different color choices and create a palette that is visually pleasing and works for your living or work space. Most importantly, they are colors that resonate with you. I also advise on paints and finishes, writing it all out. I will answer questions or get answers that you need.

It is important to me that this process be very respectful, and I find that comes from listening to what you say. If someone asks me what I would do with a room, well… I always have an opinion! But I am more concerned with creating something that you are pleased with and not just what the current rage is. If I sense you need a little nudge to break away from playing it safe, I will certainly do that. However, the decisons in the end are yours. I bring knowledge of the colors and palettes and where to look to create what you are desiring to visually achieve.
