When I start a drawing I am thinking about the composition, the line and path the eye takes, a palette of colors descriptive and lovely, and of course, light. I am looking to achieve a sense of weight and balance and, perhaps, to make something as simple as an apple or peach a story in itself. Therein lies the synergy between being an artist and a color consultant, for this is what I do when I look at a room or space, and being one makes me better at being the other.
